"I have been teaching tap dance for 10 years and have had experience teaching all levels at various studios.

My teaching experience has allowed me to develop a style of teaching that strikes a balance between tap and stagecraft techniques to provide a professional performance each time. I have been able to develop skills in preparing students for exams and performances as well as encouraging students to reach higher standards of tap dance.

My experience learning from, and teaching beside, Glenn Wood has been invaluable in developing the teaching skills required to take students right from the fundamentals of tap through to the most challenging aspects of tap dance.

The experience I have gained through my insight into various dance schools is also invaluable. I will use this experience to develop Tap Tap Tap into studio with a relaxed atmosphere while instilling the discipline and stagecraft skills that are required to produce a professional performance every time - whether it is for an audience of one or an audience of many."


The Glenn Wood Tap Syllabus

Tap Tap Tap students develop their tap dancing technique using the principles from the Glenn Wood Tap syllabus. Students prepare and complete exams for the syllabus each year, but are also challenged with additional work based on the syllabus and the principles that lie behind it.

How are students educated with the principles behind the syllabus?

Miss Amanda was taught by Glenn Wood from the age of 16 and still attends classes with him when they are offered. During Miss Amanda's time at Glenn Wood Tap (the studio) she saw the syllabus develop from a few rough notes on a piece of paper to the comprehensive tap dancing curriculum it is today.

The syllabus is based on a tap style that is relaxed and fun yet still founded on solid tap technique. The syllabus is dynamic, teaches good tap technique and gets students "dancing" quicker - even in the lower levels. Some specific benefits of the syllabus are the use of each foot leading to create a balanced dancer (not a right footed one), great turning progression and a chance for students to perform their work in exams.
